STUDIO PAINTINGS
The paintings begin with sketches of a specific object, examining form and light from every perspective; playing with scale and space, looseness and detail.
The physicality of the object is lost in the flow and the puzzle of composition; the process itself becomes the work. The focus turns to history of marks made in previous layers, happenstance, texture, and color.
Works are mixed media including oil, oilstick, acrylic, powdered graphite, wax, and epoxy resin.
